Protologue	Tropische und subtropische Pflanzenwelt 12: 35–41, fig. 4–6. (Bromelienstudien I., 3. Mitteilung: 21–27) [Diagnosis p. 35–36 (21–22)] published 1974 Protologue has been verified.
Typus	HT: HEID Rauh 25945 [Exsiccata HEID 607772 & 607773 et in spiritu HEID 204786 & 204789]
Typification according to protologue	Holotypus: RAUH, Nr. 25945 (sept. 1970) in herbario inst. bot. system. heidelbergensis (HEID).
Locus classicus according to protologue	Habitat: Peruvia, in valle Apurimac inter Andahuaylas et Abancay (Dptm. Apurimac), 2200 m. s. m. [German version:] Habitat: Tal des Rio Apurimac, zwischen Andahuaylas und Abancay (Dptm. Apurimac), an steilen Felswänden in 2200 m Höhe. [⇒ Please note that the locality cited by Rauh is wrong! Comments	There are several mistakes in the protologue: 1.) The gathering date cited in the typification is wrong. The type material was collected on 1971-08-08 and not in «sept. 1970», see database record 14752. On Rauh’s expedition to Perú in 1970 he collected numbers Rauh 23500 ... 25610. Rauh originally noted the wrong year (1970) in his field book at the headline of the days 6 ... 8 August on page HEIDRAUHFDB044_044. Later he corrected it into «1971». In the protologue of Tillandsia pseudomicans he made one more mistake concerning a gathering date: Rauh 20728 (Tillandsia micans) was collected on 1967-09-15, not in August 1970 as cited. Such mistakes are quite typical for Rauh’s method of working. 2.) Rauh cited a wrong locality. The Holotype of Tillandsia pseudomicans was collected on the way from Abancay to Cuzco, not far above the mouth of Río Berbejo into Río Apurimac. See locality comment of Entry 14752. [CNS 2017-04-25]
